Standing in the Need of Prayer!

Published by nancyarantwilliams at 7:03 am under Uncategorized Edit This

Right now our lawmakers are confronted with a tragic and foolish appropriations package filled with just enough perks that they cannot resist temptation, one that will bankrupt us all and bring our nation to ruin. Please join me in praying for God to intervene as never before.

Father, right now, we stand in the need of prayer. You say where two or more are gathered in your name, your presence is mighty. In Jesus’ name we come against this evil appropriations package that has the power to bring down our nation. We believe that greater is He that is within us than he that is within the world. And your Word says that “If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and turn from their wicked ways and seek my face, I will hear from heaven and heal their land.”

Because you are sovereign, Lord, we pray for our nation, pleading the blood of Jesus over us and our children for generations to come, and ask for a mighty move of heaven to stop the madness that besets us. Lust for power, greed and bribes have overtaken the leadership who no longer hear your voice, Father, or care that they are killing their own sheep. We ask you to break their hearts, shattering the deception, so they can see their end. Help them see that they will ultimately stand before you to account for the ways they led their people astray. Remind them in vivid color, Lord, that they were entrusted with caring for the people–that they are not there merely to become rich, using power for their own evil gain. Let Holy Spirit conviction break their hearts, and don’t let them rest or sleep until they turn their hearts to you, for to whom much is given, much is required.

We pray for those lawmakers who still hold fast to righteousness, and ask that you will bless them. Give them wisdom, and let their voices be heard, shouting from the rooftops, drowning out all other voices, and make them as beacons of light in the blackest night, shining brilliantly, blinding the eyes of those who love darkness rather than light, because their deeds are evil. Use the anointed words of men of integrity to bring evil men to their knees. Do not let evil overtake good, Father, but let righteousness prevail, for your Word says righteousness exalts a nation.

Oh, Father, without you, we have no one to help us, so hear our cries and convict the hearts of evil men who would destroy the soul of our nation from the inside out. The day is here when, as Scripture says, evil has become good, and good evil. But Jesus is Lord, and you, Father, are still sovereign, so go to battle for us as never before or we are lost forever.

Remind us of our godly roots and let truth and righteousness once again be established in our hearts and in our land. We repent, Father of our own sins, of apathy, greed and materialism, and from walking away from you. Change our hearts, and bring us to the place of repentance and revival where we’ve never been before. Help us abhor that which is evil and stand against it. May this land once again be a place where Jesus is exalted and glorified, and righteousness is the rule rather than the exception.

You say to ask, and keep on asking, to seek and knock, so corporately we ask, seek and beat on the doors of heaven, believing you will make a way for those who love and trust you.

Give grace and peace to the fearful, providing for every need, and turn around for good what the enemy has meant for harm, Lord, and we will simply give you all the praise, for you are God, sovereign, and worthy of all our praise. Let those of us who know and love you, once again take our place and boldly lift up the name of Jesus, letting go of secret sins and getting into repentance,  ultimately glorifying our Father in heaven. Help us remember that he that winneth souls is wise, because Jesus’ return is imminent.

In Jesus most holy name, we agree and believe, for that is the faith that pleases you. Amen and amen.

Thank you for adding your voice to the throngs of intercessors who can break through the madness, not by might, nor by power, but by the Spirit of the Lord!

Because of His great love,

Nancy
