Looking for a Solid Investment?
Looking for an investment that won’t be rocked by the economy, by who’s in leadership, or by upheaval in the stock market? I’m sorry to say there isn’t one.
As much as we hate to hear it, Scripture says that everything on earth will eventually burn. Everything (like the value of stocks and real estate) that goes up must come down. Money loses value when governments print too much of it. If you’ve been watching the latest developments on CNN or Fox News you know exactly how volatile values can be.
So what is permanent? What can we invest ourselves in that does not lose value? The things of the spirit of God never change, because God never changes. The things that are valuable to God are not subject to market whims. Hebrews 13:8 says: “Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today and forever.”
So how far does your 401K have to fall–how bad do things have to get before you’re willing to concede you can’t make it on your own? Scripture says we are blind and poor, and wretched and naked, and don’t even know it. But I daresay we soon will if things continue the way they’re going now.
But will we listen? May God give us a heart of flesh and ears to hear before it’s too late, and we pay for that choice for eternity! Invest yourself in God’s economy, where moth and rust do not corrupt and thieves do not break in and steal, for that is the only safe haven in our crazy, upside down world. Confess your sins, and believe on the only solid foundation, the Lord Jesus Christ, and be saved. Then read and study God’s Word and live for Him while there is still time.
Let him who has an ear hear the Word of the Lord!
