Do We Know What We Have?

Published by nancyarantwilliams at 6:19 am under Uncategorized Edit This

You know, you and I should be transformed every time we enter God’s presence. I mean, this is God we’re talking about here! His mercies endureth forever toward His beloved! We’re saved, redeemed from death, hell and the grave. We’re changed by the renewing of our minds. We are empowered, encouraged, taught, lifted up, healed, and blessed and highly favored in every way. So why on earth aren’t we excited about Jesus?

Have you given it much thought lately? Are you excited about Jesus? As much as I hate to even think it, I’m beginning to believe that if we can’t get excited about Jesus, we aren’t really saved. Now don’t write and argue the point, because Scripture says that He wants us to be either hot or cold, but that if we are lukewarm He will spit us out of His mouth. Now to me, that means He wants nothing to do with us, because we have not treasured the gift that He’s given us. Just as yesterday when I mentioned the vision of the pearl on a tiny display stand on the living room coffee table, we dare not underestimate the value of our salvation! It cost Jesus His life, so we’d better begin to look at it with the reverence and esteem it deserves.

I don’t believe most of us even have a clue what we’ve been saved from. Hell is a real place, burning with endless fire, nothing green or alive, only death, terrible smells of decay and people in torment night and day. If you don’t believe me, read the book, Twenty Three Minutes in Hell. You won’t sleep for a week, but on the other hand you won’t be apathetic about your salvation anymore either.

Time is a-wastin’, brothers and sisters. What are we going to do with Jesus!
We need to wake up and ask God to help us love what He loves and hate what He hates, stirring our hearts with the fire of the Holy Spirit.

Father, right now I pray for the body of Christ, especially in America, where we think we are rich and yet we are blind and poor and wretched and naked without you. Stir the fire within us, Lord, that we may be transformed each time we come into your presence. We’re desperate for an outpouring of your spirit, Father, so come, Lord Jesus, and change us. Burn up the chaff and help us keep eternity’s values in view, crucifying our flesh and coming alive in Christ, that we may never be the same again.
In Jesus’ most holy name, amen.

Because of His great love,
Nancy
